Efraín Cruz

A graduate of the Johnson & Wales University, Chef Efrain Cruz’s 10-year experience as Executive Chef in Puerto Rico’s hospitality industry has taken him in the competitive path of participating and winning numerous culinary match ups in Puerto Rico and the United States.  Most recently, Chef Cruz was Captain of the 2007 National Culinary Team of Puerto Rico; under his leadership the team won a Gold Medal at the “Taste of the Caribbean” regional culinary competition held in Miami, Florida in June 2007.  He also nabbed the Silver medal in the Chef of the Year competition at “Taste.” 
As Executive Chef at Gran Meliá Puerto Rico Golf Resort & Villas, Chef Cruz supervises the quality of the fare at its four restaurants—Nami, Tempo, Café Soleil, and Wet Pool Bar & Grill – and a staff of 80 employees.
