Plaza del Mercado (town market) and Martex Farms Tour

Puerto Rico's town markets offer a genuine experience of Puerto Rican culture. At the Plaza del Mercado, vendors sell local foods, herbs, religious paraphernalia, and much more. Following breakfast and a visit to the Plaza del Mercado in Santurce, this tour will take you to Martex Farms in the south coast of Puerto Rico. This family-owned business is dedicated to the growing, processing, packing and shipping of tropical fruits and plants throughout the United States
and Europe. Martex Farms' fertile soils grow high quality tropical fruits and plants, including mango, banana, avocado, star fruit, mamey sapote, sapodilla, sugar apple, and Spanish lime, among many other delicious varieties. This tour is a full day tour that includes breakfast at the Plaza del Mercado and lunch at the Martí Family’s beautiful summer home.

Coffee Lovers' Tour
Coffee was introduced to Puerto Rico by Spanish immigrants in the 1730's. It thrived in the Central Mountain Range, where the tropical climate tempered by trade winds and generous rain makes it one of the great natural coffee growing regions of the world. By the beginning of the 1800's, Puerto Rican coffee was renowned and much sought-after throughout Europe and even imported by The Vatican. In the early 20th Century, Puerto Rican Coffee was served in official state dinners at the White House by US President Theodore Roosevelt, a coffee lover and connoisseur. In the morning, this full-day tour takes you to Hacienda Buena Vista for a historic tour of the old coffee plantation, followed by lunch at Pa’l Campo Restaurant. During the afternoon, you will go on a guided tour of Hacienda Las Patricias. where your will have the opportunity to learn all about the
entire coffee process.
