World-famous Balneario de Carolina takes center stage in a flavorful weekend.

For the past ten years, Saborea Puerto Rico has been the culinary highlight event of the year, synonymous with world-class cooking, and has continued to position Puerto Rico as the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean. This year Saborea Puerto Rico gains even more significance, since we are opening our touristic and cultural offering to the world after the recent natural event that impacted our Island.

Gastronomy is a popular segment of the tourism activity and has helped place Puerto Rico on the tourism map as a destination for international foodies. Moreover, as a cultural expression, gastronomy contributes to local, regional, and national economic development. This culinary festival has become the largest and most important one in the Caribbean with thousands of tourists, visitors, and residents attending the event each year.


This time, Saborea Puerto Rico will launch a fresh new concept that will offer food connoisseurs the opportunity to indulge in local cuisine and trendy experiences, in addition to a wide variety of wines, beers, distilled spirits, and a assortment of desserts and coffees during the 11th edition of this gastronomic event to be held from April 5 to 8, 2018 in a new venue, Balneario de Carolina. Traditionally, the event brings special guests from all over the world to taste the culinary offerings of some of the best chefs in Puerto Rico and the United States.

The Saborea Puerto Rico weekend will start with the well-known event Bubbles and Bites on April 5th, 2018, where sparkling drinks will be paired with local flavors for foodies to get a taste of a classy combination in a chic ambiance.

On April 7th, 2018, Saborea Puerto Rico Sunset will debut as a fresh new concept of our gastronomic pavilion, where the scenery, music and taste will provide the perfect blend to showcase what Puerto Rico has to offer.

On Sunday April 8th, 2018, Saborea Puerto Rico will conclude with a trendy brunch event, where renowned chefs will prepare a selection of menus for a culinary delight.

Saborea Puerto Rico is a Puerto Rico Hotel and Tourism Association (PRHTA) event benefiting its Educational Fund, which provides training and certifications in a variety of specialties for people in the hospitality industry, as well as other programs geared toward the local tourism industry’s development. It aims to promote Puerto Rico as a culinary destination and provide a platform for the island’s gastronomic industry.

The PRHTA represents the private tourism industry in Puerto Rico. Founded in 1950, PRHTA has 580 corporate members, among which are large, mid-size and small hotels, restaurants, airlines and others businesses that serve the tourism industry.
