Ventura Vivoni

Chef Vivoni grew up surrounded by a coffee Hacienda in the central mountains of Adjuntas, Puerto Rico. There his passion for nature, arts and hospitality was born.  This “Jibarito” have the that effervescent that rise his interpretation of PuertoRican cuisine. Since childhood his mother introduced him to the knowledge of simple but great flavors, that’s his base.  His paternal grandma and sisters came from Lebanon; in every gather, there was a Mediterranean culinary tradition. On the other side his maternal grandmother had a passion for gastronomy. Naturally inspired by fruits, herbs and foraging experiences since young.

Ventura got his certification in the Culinary Arts on San Juan Puerto Rico and immediately start learning from diverse kitchens.

Driven by appetite, at his 27 he was already an executive chef for a hotel at Grenada, West Indies.

In order to satisfy his hungers, Vivoni have immersed and dipped on a sampler of cultures that includes: Spain, France, Mexico, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Bolivia, and some States, anything on the menu goes, more cooking styles and cultures.

He have been involved in diverse cuisines, from humble Boricua Fogón to Michelin Stars Kitchens such as PERSE restaurant from renowned chef Thomas Keller in NY.

“Que Pasa” magazine named him “one of the Puertorrican culinary emerging superstars”

“El Vocero” newspaper, select him as one of the 10 best Puertorrican Chefs Nouvelle Cuisine.

Highlighted by Food and Wine Magazine like Puerto Rico’s new culinary promise.

Vivoni hosts his own cooking show “Travesías con Sabor” on WIPR the channel of Puerto Rico. Recorded  outdoor,  and the porpoise is to enhance the Puertorrican agriculture by cooking in beautiful surrounding spots across the island using the local ingredient. Now on it’s 8th season.

Internacional appearances include: “Cutthroat Kitchen” at the renowned Food Network channel.

Also the Movable Food Feast on Fine Cooking channel.

He partners with his parents at Restaur-Arte Vida Ventura, 1887 dated Hacienda Luz de Luna in Adjuntas. A tasting experience to the senses, through history and the culinary arts. Considered by many  as a culinary hidden gem.

With the strength of his wife and energy that his daughter brings Chef Vivoni feels persuaded to share his recipe Chulería en Pote with the market. Launching his 12 spice Adobo. Branding his name with a compromise with a healthy taste. Use it on everything.
